Corinne Bailey Rae Offers “The Sea;” TV Appearances Forthcoming

Corinne Bailey RaeGrammy Award-winner Corinne Bailey Rae today (January 26) offers her sophomore CD, The Sea, which features the Smooth Jazz Top 20 chartbound song “Closer.” The CD was to be released next month but was rescheduled to coincide with several TV dates. Corrine performed this morning on the Today show. She’ll also appear on Tavis Smiley Wednesday (January 27), Ellen Thursday (January 28) and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on Friday (January 29). She will also perform March 1 on Late Show with David Letterman.

The Sea, whose 11 songs are all written by Bailey Rae, is her follow-up to her 2006 self-titled CD that included the smooth jazz hits “Put Your Records On,” “Like a Star” and “Trouble Sleeping.”

Bailey Rae, 30, has also had smooth jazz singles with two collaborations, the first with “River” from Herbie Hancock’s Grammy-winning River: The Joni Letters. The second was “Free,” a song from an album by bassist Marcus Miller.

The U.K.-based singer has announced one U.S. date for 2010 so far: April 17 at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Southern California.
