Today (January 26th), we’re wishing vocalist Anita Baker a happy birthday as she turns 52. Baker, born in Toledo, Ohio, but raised in Detroit, released her debut album The Songstress in 1983.

In 2004 Anita delivered My Everything on the Blue Note record label, her first album in 10 years. That album featured the Grammy-nominated smooth jazz single “You’re My Everything.”

An eight-time Grammy Award winner and singer of hits including “Sweet Love,” “Giving You All The Best That I Got” and “Caught Up In The Rapture,” Anita has sold more than 13 million records.

In 2005, Anita released her first holiday CD, which she called Christmas Fantasy.
